The music of Olivia Love hits you way down deep in that sweet spot in your soul, the
place where yearning, heartache, and romantic struggle live. Olivia makes folk music
with a touch of the celestial—airy, ethereal, blissed-out, and all the other superlatives.
It’s somewhere in the realm of Grouper and Linda Perhacs, with a hint of Natalia
LaFourcade, but Olivia’s truly on her own path, one that blends traditional folk elements
with 21 st century pop. Her live shows have become a popular draw around Philly thanks
to her commanding stage presence and ability to incorporate folk, soul, jazz, and other
styles into her own unique sonic melting pot.
Olivia broke into the biz with her EP No Love Songs in 2022, a lovely collection of
leftfield folk tunes recorded at Mechanizer Studios in Philadelphia. A stunningly mature
debut, No Love Songs captured her penchant for weepy acoustics, soft-focus nature-
scapes, and swooning, soulful vocals that just about melt your face off.
Of course, none of this is to downplay Olivia’s ability to write a hook. As fans of her live
staple “Glossy” can attest, she’s got an undeniable pop sensibility about her. So
whether you want glossified 2020s pop diva or old-timey American folk-crooner, Olivia’s
your gal. Her music radiates the divine feminine within—full of flair, wit, danger, and a
springlike bounce in its step.
